Welcome to Antwerp

DyProSo XXXII
32nd International Symposium on Dynamical Properties of Solids

University of Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium
September 13-17th, 2009

Welcome to the 32nd International Symposium on Dynamical Properties of Solids - DyProSo XXXII -, which takes place at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, and is organized by the Condensed Matter Theory group of the Physics Department of the University of Antwerp.
DyProSo XXXII is a 4-day international forum, focusing on current topics and new concepts in the field of condensed matter in its excited states. The symposium is intended to stimulate discussion, to foster scientific contacts, and to develop new ideas among both young and more experienced researchers working on dynamic properties of condensed matter from experimental and theoretical points of view. The programme will cover current and emerging themes from theory (ab-initio calculations, Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics simulations, advances in phenomenological models, etc.) to experiment (X-ray and neutron diffraction, optical and electronic spectroscopies, new techniques, etc.).
The scientific programme of DyProSo XXXII focuses on:
  • Carbon-based materials
  • Multiferroics
  • Advances in experimental techniques
  • Superconductors
  • Relaxor ferroelectrics
  • Nanostructures
  • Crystalline soft matter
  • Materials at extreme pressure
The symposium format assumes a limited number of participants, no proceedings and no parallel sessions.
Apart from invited talks, contributed talks and poster presentations are scheduled as well.
Participants are encouraged to present their latest results.
We are looking forward to receiving your registration and extended abstract.

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee of DyProSo XXXII,

François M. Peeters (Conference Chairman)
